One hand in paint, the other helping the world's poor
A balancing act in colour and form
Professional info
Marianna Gindin has painted for as long as she can remember. “Life is an amazing adventure: one day you are walking the streets of Paris in wonder, the next you're taking in the breezes of California, or watching the sailboats on the pond in Central Park”, Marianna recounts.

Life is the biggest inspiration for Marianna’s work. She experiments with form, style, and medium – she constantly moves forward reinventing her mode of expression; her canvas is her journey and her thought process, and oil painting is the perfect medium to think out loud. Marianna’s style can be defined as figurative impressionism; she has experimented with traditional painting techniques as well as contemporary methods, such as finger painting that reaped a new level of depth of expression, richness of colour and texture. Each painting Marianna produces has a life of its own, its own story, and conveys Marianna’s deep relationship with it. Marianna is regularly exploring new ideas and developing new concepts into her own artistic language of expressions in the present, her current reality, seeking new methods to achieve these concepts. The goal Marianna seeks is to provoke the viewer to delve deeper and contemplate beyond the surface.

Marianna Gindin is a Canadian artist living and working in New York. She balances two careers; an artist, and helping the Least Developed Countries improve their lives with the United Nations.
